10 Great Ideas for Organizing Your Kitchen
Your kitchen is one of the busiest rooms in your house, which means having one that is highly organized will make your life much easier. To ensure that your life runs smoothly and that your family functions properly, organize your kitchen. If you don’t know where to start, here are 10 great tips that will help you get your kitchen organized in no time at all.
Clean Out Your Fridge
The fridge is one of the most unorganized places in the kitchen. To help you get things a little more organized and a lot more useful, start by adding a wire shelf to your fridge. This allows you to place more things on the shelves without having to stack things on top of each other, causing a mess when you need something from the bottom of a stack.
Add a lazy Susan type turntable to your fridge so that you can easily access items you use regularly, such as your condiments and coffee creamers. Adding this to one shelf will make your fridge much more organized.
Make More Room in Cabinets
Don’t you hate when your cookie sheets and pans are a mess in your cabinet? Stacking things that are not the same size on top of one another does not make for a tidy cabinet. Try placing tension rods into your cabinets to make them more organized. Place them far enough apart that you can slide your pans into them to create an organized space for your bake ware.
Alternately, you can hang a tension rod across the length of a cabinet and hang your cleaning supplies from it by their handles.
Take your pots out of your cabinet and hang them up. Get a rack to hang over your island or hang them from the wall behind the stove so that you have more cabinet space for other things. Additionally, your pots will be easily accessible, which means your kitchen is more functional and much more organized.
Add hooks to the inside of your cabinet doors to store your sponges, dishrags, and other items that need to hang up when you are finished using them. This prevents unsightly piles of towels and other items inside your cabinets.
Paint a long, inexpensive mirror with chalkboard paint and hang it inside your pantry door. Use it to keep track of things you need. When you notice you are out of something, write it on the door. Your family can do the same thing, which means you will save time going through your pantry and fridge trying to see what you need before going shopping.
Organize the Pantry
Pour everything into containers that are the same size and height to make your pantry look more uniform. This eliminates the need to find place for oversize, odd shaped items. All you need are labels so you know what’s in every container.
Mount a spice rack on the wall so you can see the spices you have, read their labels with ease, and get to them without searching through dozens of containers for the one you need.
Add hooks to the wall to hang your measuring cups and cooking utensils so that when you need them they are right there. No more searching through a large, messy drawer of utensils to find exactly what you need to finish cooking dinner or baking dessert.
