7 Cheap Ways To Make Your Kitchen Look Lovely Again
Your kitchen is somewhere you spend a lot of time working in. Food doesn’t make itself and unless you completely love cooking it can sometimes be a bit tedious. That’s why it’s always a good idea to make sure your kitchen looks great. You don’t want to spend a lot of time somewhere when you can’t bare to look at the four walls. If your kitchen isn’t quite up to your high standards we can change that right now. Let’s have a look at some ways you can make the kitchen look beautiful without ripping everything out and starting again.
Take doors off cupboards
Not all of your cupboard doors need to come off, but if you have nice things behind them then it’s better to look at pretty stuff than be face-to-face with another plain looking door. If you’re going to take any off just make sure you give the inside of the cupboard a nice paint so it doesn’t look terrible. You can always give it a try and see how you like it, and if not put the door back on.
Use chicken-wire
You could replace the doors with new ones that have chicken-wire instead of panels. This means it still have a door you can open, but you can see inside through the holes. This is especially nice if you have fancy wine glasses inside. If you spent that much on glasses you don’t just want to see them when you’re drinking wine. They should be on display all the time.
Replace broken tiles
Sometimes tiles will eventually fall off or little pieces will break. It completely throws off the look of your kitchen. One little tile can make it look like a mess. It’s not very hard to replace a broken tile and you should be able to do it yourself. The hardest thing you’ll have to do is find a suitable replacement if the store doesn’t stock the same style anymore.
Update appliances
Your appliances serve one purpose. That could be toasting your bread, or boiling your water. As long as they do what it says on the tin you will probably be happy. But if you have a look at some of the ones being designed these days you’ll notice they look absolutely amazing. Instead of buying something that does the job properly, you should also make sure it looks great.
Throw away old things
Have a look around and try to pick out some stuff you haven’t used for years. Do you really think you’ll use them again? When you have too much crap in your kitchen it just makes the place look like a mess. Throw the stuff out and you won’t regret it. Even if it’s laying in the back of your cupboards you will appreciate them not being full when you open the doors.
Change the color of the walls
If you have any walls in your kitchen that are papered you should give them a lick of paint. You are probably getting bored of the same color on the walls and it might do you the world of good to pick out a new one. It should only take you a weekend to paint the walls, or even less if your kitchen is small.
Replace broken handles
There’s nothing more annoying than having a broken handle on a cupboard or drawer. Because we’re all naturally lazy we decide to leave it and deal with it each time we need to open them up. It would be so much easier if you just took the time to find a replacement and got it fixed, and you will save yourself so much hassle in the long-run.
