How To Build Designer Kitchen At Low Cost

ex-display designer kitchenIf you envy people when you look at their designer kitchens, you will be delighted to know that you too can have a similar kitchen, that too not costing a fortune by picking up one of the ex display designer kitchens. For this you just have to be a little creative and smart. Famous architect George Clarke says that he has also used an Ikea kitchen carcass, and then lacquered mdf doors made by a carpenter and later a stone worktop cut out by another company – a way to save a lot of money and create a kitchen that looks expensive, but is not.

A Cheap Kitchen

You can also change the looks of your inexpensive kitchen just by adding some detailing. E.g. you can have cheap unit caracasses installed, to which you can add an extra section on top to increase the worktop height. In the added space you have got between the doors and worktop, you can then get a walnut strip fitted. Even you can fit a matching strip beneath the units at a skirting height. So, it will give you two walnut strips on show. This simple modification can bring an immense change to the kitchen, which will look fantastic.

Upgrading a Standard Kitchen

You can look for quality handles and worktops and take care of the finishing part. For instance, it is good to buy a cheaper kitchen and spend more on the quality worktops, like a Corian or granite. Similarly cheap handles are cheap in looks too and if you change the cheap handles of inexpensive units to expensive ones they start looking great.

You can also visit a shop of bulk-produced kitchen shop and buy one of their designer copies, which are quite unidentifiable by anybody, because of their color and high gloss. One shortfall may be they are not always inexpensive.

Being Smart

You can visit a company which sells second-hand or ex display kitchens and get a smart bargain. They have ex-display and good quality used kitchens, and appliances too. Plus, there are always various types available with them. They have a kitchen which is particularly needed by you and at the same time, they also sell your used kitchen. Take a look and you will find Mark Wilkinson, Pronorm or Schiffini and also tailored units, all in good state, much cheaper than the price if you buy them new. So, this is being smart, isn’t it?
