Google’s Android-operated Kitchen Appliances are Coming!
Have you ever dreamt of operating your kitchen appliances like you operate your TV and music player with a remote control? If you have, your dreams will soon come true, because Google will soon use its Android OS on kitchen and other home appliances.
The internet giant has decided to expand its Android world from mobile phones and tablets and take it to make operating home appliances more convenient. Google has joined hands with Dacor, the luxury appliance manufacturer, to develop Android-operated appliances.
The venture will take the getting around in kitchen to a much easier level with the help of mobile operating system operated kitchenware, as told by the company. For example, rice cookers will be able to decide the kind of rice to cook and also you can set cooking guidelines. Even a washing machine will give you an alert on to your television to make you aware that it has finished its work.
The mobile phone OS-run kitchenware is not very new though. It has been tried before by Panasonic in form of a cloud-based Android-operated microwave which allows users to find out recipes and program instructions with the help of smartphones. Even LG has lately previewed the Smart ThinQ Refrigerator at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. This fridge will track the freshness of the food, call for recipes, maintain a shopping list and supervise and change its power usage, just like other smart fridges. Dacor too presented its Android-run oven in this CES which programs itself as per the recipes chosen from a tablet.
Well, kitchen and other home appliances will be more and more convenient to operate as seen in these inventions and the consumer will hardly say ‘no’ to them, looking at the comfort, time-saving and energy-saving they will offer. So, if you have money, you can now make your kitchen as lavish as you want and save money at the same time.
