Kitchen is a place in the house which is just supposed to be clean and tidy and not required to be well-decorated like other rooms in the house. However, nobody thinks that it is a place where the housewife spends most of her time and if that place is nicely decorated, she will feel happy. Kitchen art, i.e. decorating kitchen with nice photos, is really a necessary thing and there are indeed innumerable ideas with which you can make your kitchen beautiful. This will not only make the housewife happy, but it can also make the kitchen a great place for the entire family to spend quality time together.
Right Choice
Obviously you don’t want an abstract art picture on your kitchen wall. It is perfect for your drawing room. A kitchen needs pictures related to cooking, eating, gastronomy, taste buds and culinary skills. So, you should choose such pictures which will inspire you to do the job of cooking with interest. Remember that you are using these photos for yourself and your family members and not for your guests who would appreciate your choice of art! So, choose something which will make you feel good while working in the kitchen.
Themes and Colors
You can use particular themes and colors while choosing photos for your kitchen. How about a fruit theme? You can mount three or as many photos as you want of different fruits on your kitchen wall, which is empty for so many years. A set of photos having a single brightly colored fruit in the center looks fabulous. Or you can choose fruits of similar colors, e.g. red cherries, apples, plums and so on. Similarly you can use flower photos. Flowers are quite compatible with kitchen, though we don’t use all of them in cooking! Actually flowers look beautiful anywhere! On the same line you can use a variety of themes like utensils, cutlery, crockery, photos of your baby’s childhood, your pet, or anything you feel good about.
Single Big Picture
The idea of mounting a huge single photo on the kitchen wall is also good. You can use a picture of a kitchen table decorated with delicious dishes, or a huge platter filled with fruits, turkey, wines, or anything mouthwatering, a line of cute babies or pets, and many such objects.
Waterscape Pictures??
Actually it depends on your own choice, whether you would like a scenic waterscape photo in your kitchen; but such photos don’t suit a kitchen. Imagine a photo of rains, ocean waves, waterfall, or lake on a kitchen wall and think how you feel. If you like it, no problem. You are free to use it. But water denotes coolness and kitchen is related to heat mainly! But still some of you may find this contrast attractive.
Choosing photos to decorate your kitchen depends entirely on your liking and you have to just remember that you should feel good while those photos are there; and if they serve that purpose it means they are perfectly placed.
